How Many Hours Have I Played League of Legends?
League doesn't show your lifetime hours anywhere in the client. You can get close in three ways: Wasted on LoL for a quick total, OP.GG match data for a period you add up yourself, or a formal data request to Riot. Each one misses something, so here's what they count and where they fall short.
Method 1: Wasted on LoL (wol.gg)
Wasted on LoL is a free community site that estimates your total time in games. Type your Riot ID with its tag (for example PlayerName#EUW), pick your server, and it returns minutes, hours and days, plus where you rank against other players it has looked up.
It builds the total from match records, so two things pull it down. Queue time and champion select aren't in a match record. And very old matches may not be there to count: guides that have tested it report its data only reaching back a few seasons. If you've played since 2015, read the number as a floor.
Method 2: Work it out on OP.GG
OP.GG shows how many games you've played and how long each match lasted. When we checked in October 2026, a standard profile didn't show one lifetime hours figure, so you do the sum:
Hours = games played × average game length in minutes ÷ 60
| Games | At 30 minutes a game |
|---|---|
| 100 | 50 hours |
| 500 | 250 hours |
| 1,000 | 500 hours |
| 3,000 | 1,500 hours |
Worked examples at an assumed 30 minutes, not a measured League average.
If your games run longer, change the 30. This method works best for a defined stretch, such as this season's ranked games, because the counts on a profile don't cover every normal game or ARAM you've ever played.
Method 3: Ask Riot for your data
Riot will send you your account data, but for League the list doesn't include playtime. Its data request page (May 2026) names four things: your report history, chat logs from the last three months or last 100 games, store transactions and money purchases.
- Open a support ticket.
- Choose "Account Management, Data Requests, or Deletion".
- Select "Formal Personal Data Request".
- Verify that the account is yours.
Riot takes up to 30 days to prepare the zip file, and the download link expires 30 days after that. It's worth doing if you want to see what you've spent, and our RP price guideturns that RP back into money. It won't answer the hours question.
Which method is most accurate?
For one quick lifetime number, Wasted on LoL. For an exact count over a set period, OP.GG plus a calculator. The Riot request is official, but it isn't built to track hours.
| Method | What it gives you | What it misses | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wasted on LoL | Estimated total time in games | Older matches, queue and champ select | Rough lifetime figure |
| OP.GG | Game counts and the length of each match | Matches it has no record of, client time | Good for a set period you add up yourself |
| Riot data request | Reports, chat logs, store and money purchases | Playtime is not on the list | Official, but not an hours tracker |
What your hours say about your climb
Very little on their own. Rank moves with results and with how much LP your MMR pays per win, not with time served. Some players with thousands of hours sit in the division they started in, while others climb two tiers in a month.
Take one evening of 20 ranked games:
| Result | Games | LP each | Total LP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wins | 11 | +24 | +264 |
| Losses | 9 | -22 | -198 |
| Net | 20 | +66 |
That's 66 LP for around 10 hours of games, before queue time. A player with a higher MMR could post the same record and gain a lot more. That's why no one can give you an honest hours-per-division figure. If your gains look small, our guide on why you only gain 15 LPexplains what's going on.
Climbing with fewer hours
The same number of games goes further when each one teaches you something. A few habits that help:
- pick one mistake to watch for after every session;
- stick to two or three champions you already know;
- decide how many games you'll play before you queue, and stop there.
If you want someone to point at the mistakes for you, 1-on-1 LoL coaching does that in a single session. Some players pay for a duo boost instead, with a Challenger partner on their own account. Riot counts paid boosting as rank manipulation even then, so read the risks before you go that way.
FAQ
How much time have I spent on League?
Put your Riot ID into Wasted on LoL for a quick estimate, or add up match lengths from OP.GG for a set period. Neither gives an exact lifetime total, and both leave out queue and champion select.
Does Riot show hours played?
No. The client has no lifetime hours counter, and Riot's formal data request for League lists reports, chat logs and purchases, not playtime.
Is Wasted on LoL accurate?
It's an estimate. It adds up the matches it can find, so the figure is close for recent seasons but can come out low for an account that's been around for many years.
Does OP.GG show total hours played?
Not as one lifetime number on a standard profile. It shows your games and how long each one lasted, so you can work out hours for any stretch of games yourself.
Does Wasted on LoL include queue time?
Treat it as game time only. A count built from match records can't see queue, champion select or time sitting in the client. For full session time you'd need a PC activity tracker.
How many hours does it take to climb one division?
There's no fixed number. A division is 100 LP, and how fast you get there depends on your win rate and how much LP your MMR gives per win. Add up your net LP over your last 20 games to see your own pace.
